UPDATE: October 2008 Our project in Palave is up and running. Things we accomplished: 1. We purchased 2 sewing machines. The seamstreeses are making school uniforms for the kids, getting them back into school 2. We delivered baseball equipment to the community. Agapita, our partner in Palave, has the kids baseball league up and running keeping them off the streets. 3. We delivered Spanish to English lessons and Agapita is already holding classes. Hopefully, by learning English, many in the community will be able to move into more lucrative tourism jobs. 4. We still need to fix the Community Center. Unfortunately, it sustained more damage with hurricane Ike. Hands of Humanity is a non-profit, non-political and 1non-religious international humanitarian organization focusing on sustainable projects in rural areas of the developing world. Hands of Humanity recognizes that there are many, many excellent groups doing tremendous work all around the world. 1By "non-religious" , we in no way insinuate that we are against God or any religion or religious group. Conversly, we work closely with religious groups as they are the ones many times on the front lines of solving the worlds problem. We mean "non-religious" in the sense that it is not part of our mission to prostelyze as part of our work.
